I enjoy this place. I like coming here for wings on wednesday nights and drinking diet pepsi with grenadine. It's nothing overly special but the people who work here are nice and I have good memories here. If you do get wings, try getting the jamaican jerk and the japanese black wings... i think they're called... they're both very tasty. the sweet potato fries here are decent, but not amazing. the pesto sauce is a-ok as well. not spectacular, tasty enough.

Most of this rating is based on my horrible service by Melody. It took over an hour to get the food we ordered. Also, one of our orders came out entirely wrong. We were hungry and requested to just keep it, but the waitress insisted to correct the food. She ended up taking the plate and we waited another 30 minutes for the food and we were still charged for it. It should have been comped. Would never come back.

Came here for dinner with some friends. Service was good, the black wings were great as an appetizer, but everything else was just meh. The nachos were awful - chewy chips that were an effort to eat, and buried in queso. Considered sending them back but didn't have time to wait for something else. If you just want drinks and some non-nacho apps, it seems like a nice place.

Awesome food... first time and while there were a few issues with the food we ordered, the kid made it right and said it was his fault on the miss understand with the food. Wasn't all his fault but he made sure that it was taken care of. Hats off to him... will definitely be back soon!!!

Decent food, prices, and staff. Nothing special but no complaints. I had the french onion soup and was a little tough (they used the outer onion edges). It was a cool opportunity to watch some break dancers practicing.

Why don't people come here more often? Happy hour is at convenient times (4-7pm and all day on Wednesday) and the food is great! Wednesday nights are trivia, which is always fun, and on Mondays there are $5 burgers. I have yet to try the bottomless boozy brunch, but that's on my bucket list. Update: boozy brunch attempted. Kir royales were on point, as were the bellinis and mimosas. The black velvet was alright but not my kinda thing.

Brand spankin' new in town and the patio called me over to enjoy a beautiful afternoon and a pint. I wasn't hungry so I can't comment on the food, but I asked for a quick taste of a local brew and the taste was an entire rocks glass! Um THANK YOU! It was delicious and ordered a pint and sank into their most relaxing patio. Nice cushions, shade, sun, can't ask for more! Will be my go-to pub when I'm on Delmar and need a place to land.

Went for the Ghost wing challenge and found out they nixed it about a month ago. Was told it was due to cost ???? I had them before there and they were really good granted I know I'm a rarity and like stupid spicy food but how much does it cost to keep those type of chilies or extracts ? Sorry it was what drew me to the place and the fact they were out of the two IPA beers they had on tap didn't help either....sorry guys maybe some other time.

I've come to this establishment once before during the evening time to watch sports which is what this place has to offer. After all, it is a bar. So no complaints there. But, I recently visited for Sunday brunch and had a underwhelming experience. Typically, I'm a brunch snob so I should have known better; however, a friend vouched for them and they offer bottomless mimosas. There were about nine of us which is a fairly large party but the place was nowhere near busy. Our food took long enough to come out to the point where we noticed. And when it did, one person's order was not complete, another's eggs were cold and my omelette wasn't fully cooked where part of the whites were still clear which I'm not a big fan of. I did eat all the breakfast potatoes which were delish. A couple of my friends ordered mimosas which they mentioned were pretty strong (again, it's a bar so I would hope so) but after the first one, they ran out of orange juice. They offer another drink called Black Velvet (Guinness and Champagne) but were out of Guinness. All and all, it was just basic tasting. I would probably come back. Not for brunch but to drink at the bar and watch sports (there's tons of televisions).

I went to the Market Pub with a group of friends and guest artists after an event at Craft Alliance. My meal was good, not great, but quite good. No complaints. However, when I went to pay my bill, which was around $16.00 which included the tip because I was with a large party. I realized that I had about $13 in bills and the rest in change in my purse. I'd left my ATM card at home. So I left the $14 in bills on the table and the rest in change, mostly quarters, ( it's an area with parking meters, I usually have change), but about $2.00 in dimes and nickels. The waitress looked at me funny and said she was not allowed to take the small change. (No pennies by the way and only a few nickels. I said why? She said it was the restaurant's rule. I asked where it was posted. It was not posted anywhere. Everyone else had used their bills. Finally the manager said okay, BUT JUST THIS ONCE, and scowled at me the entire time. It was humiliating. I was with my peers, and there was one person that I had an interview with the next week. I did not get the job. I have no idea if it had anything to do with the incident at the restaurant but the manager made such s huge deal of it that it very well could face effected my interview. Needless to say, I only did that JUST THAT ONE TIME, because I have not, and will not ever set foot in that incredibly rude establishment again. The food is okay, but there are MANY placed on the Delmar Loop with better food and comparable prices that don't have the rotten attitude, like Three Kings Pub across from the Tivoli... I love that place. No. I will never go to Market Pub EVER again.

We had a great meal here tonight! Our service was a little slow and our drinks didn't get refilled, but I'm very sure that our waiter was new to this. The potato skin appetizer passed my husband's scrutiny (this is one of only two restaurants that make the cut). My husband enjoyed his burger (and he loved that he could customize it). I'm a sucker for buffalo chicken, so I got the buffalo chicken wrap, which was perfect. I also enjoyed the steamed broccoli with cheese on the side. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to both picky eaters and foodies!

Came here twice for NCAA march madness to eat and watch the games. Unfortunately I think there are better places to go to enjoy games and eat. Service here was pretty slow, the staff was nice; however, food took a while, there was some time inbetween each beer. The food itself wasn't that great, I ordered the Cardiac Arrest and the cheddar sourdough melt burgers. The Cardiac Arrest was definitely not as good as it sounds, its a burger with grilled cheese as the buns. The grilled cheese was soggy and the taste itself wasn't really there. I had to dip it in ketchup to add to the taste because it was kinda bland (which it shouldn't be with grilled cheese bacon burgers etc) The cheddar sourdough melt was better. It definitely had better flavor, did not need ketchup, and I was definitely a fan of that. Fries were solid. The seating / TV arrangement here is sometime hit or miss depending on where you sit. You might have a good seat in front of a decently sized tv or you might be sitting in a spot where you can barely see the TV. I was in the latter one time and the former one time.

Best place on Delmar loop! I've tried basically everything on the menu and it's all delicious. Plus they have THE best brunch menu, cheaper than waffle house but 10x's better. (And I love waffle house.) Bottomless champagne cocktails and bloody mary's..... Need I say more? Best times to go are brunch and happy hour, and they usually have specials during games. But the best part about this place is the patio during nice weather! Let me put this in perspective for you; Bottomless drinks, great food, good company, patio furniture, outdoor tvs/music and people watching.... Give it a go and you won't regret it! By the way, ask for Rachel, she's the shit!
(4)Avi R.
This place was definitely a bit of a disappointment. Market Pub House has traditionally been a good option for a not crowded game of darts and a couple of beers. It went downhill when we ordered food here, the salad and the wrap that I got was definitely well past it's prime, my friend's Mac and Cheese was not good to say the least. Definitely expected better. The service was good and the chicken wings were pretty good too. We'll need some serious persuasion to try out any real food at this place again.
(3)Richa T.
This is definitely one of those places you want to go if you're a college student and want to get out on a weekend, but don't want to drive. I'm not sure how it would run with people outside of college though. When I came here, we stopped by for trivia night. Definitely a fun thing to do over the summer when you can round up six or seven friends to get a team going together. One of the things I really enjoyed about the trivia is that they asked a little bit of everything. I really suck at pop culture, so it was refreshing to have some questions about science and languages and other subjects to get the whole table engaged. As for food, they have a decent selection, but it's all pretty much bar food. I highly recommend getting the everything nachos. They are just the perfect app to split between your table for a trivia night. Definitely large enough to share :)

Really had the potential to be a great pub/restaurant. However, bacon jam bruschetta (appetizer) took a bit too long (around 15-20 minutes) to be called an appetizer. It only had 3 small slices of toasts on them so I wouldn't recommend getting them. The actual burger took about additional 35-45 minutes even after the appetizer. The waiter did not say anything about the issue (she did say the burger will be right out after the appetizer) and when it did come out, the patty was lukewarm and the bottom bun was soaked from its own moisture. When we confronted the manager for this, he said that the ticket indicated we waited 25 minutes for the burgers and apologized the wait for appetizer by treating us free small desserts. While the fries were good and the patty for the burger seemed like a good quality meat (and it was pretty think too), the overall service and their way to make up for it was sub-par. Food: 3 (potential to be a 5) Waiter service: 1
(3)Melanie C.
Great food and drink at a reasonable price. The nachos, which can be made vegetarian (!!!), are incredible. The Mango Radler (mango rum, hefeweizen, lemonade, and club soda) is weirdly delicious. The atmosphere is very collegiate, if that's something you're into (I'm not) but the great grub and kind servers more than make up for it. Awesome specials most nights too, and I'm dying to try the bottomless brunch!!
(5)Chelsea B.
Don't judge a book by its cover. We went to this place in a pinch. We had no time to wait for a table at all the other restaurants on the loop. I expected this place to be below average, but I couldn't have been more wrong. The food was absolutely fabulous. I had the philly cheese steak and loaded fries, the ingredients were fresh and quality, dispute the Applebees-like atmosphere I would defiantly go back.
(4)Knyree H.
So yummy! Met up with some friends here for a birthday brunch and worked out well. I called ahead to let them know how many were in my party and the table was all set up when we got there. The staff was awesome. The food was sooo yummy! I got the cheese omelet with cheddar cheese and bacon. I also got a buttermilk biscuit on the side so I could make my own little sandwich. The bottomless mimosas were dangerous but great and the staff kept them coming. I will defiantly go there again for brunch.
(5)Tamara M.
Good casual bar and lots of good beers on tap. I didn't eat there so I can't recommend any of the food, but some of it looked pretty good as I saw others eating. Good for hanging out or watching a game. It isn't so loud that you can't have a conversation like some bars, so that's a plus!
(4)Javier C.
Calm, friendly vibe, big screens and lots of beer. Great chill bar. Saturday bartender, brad, is the best - friendly, knowledgeable and fun!
(5)Cydney C.
Only been here a few times but never had a bad experience. They have a great selection of bottled and draught beers to choose from which ensures i'll be back. They also have great happy hour specials on appetizers and beers (i liked the loaded cheese fries). It doesn't hurt that they're well decorated with Cardinals gear, i'm sure this would be a great place to watch the games.
(4)Mary P.
I can see how it's sort of trying to position itself as a college bar, specifically a Wash U bar. The Thurtene Carnival T-shirts and posters above our heads were a nice touch, subtler than the huge Rathskeller sign across from us. It's big, it's airy, it's got a nice ambiance. We went for baseball, and we weren't disappointed with the viewing options, though we would have liked to not be the only ones cheering. If I had to guess, a later game would have been rowdier, and a later crowd would have been bro-ier. The $5 happy hour appetizers DO NOT include wings. We made the mistake of thinking they did; the wings were small, but I didn't think they were bad. We also had potato skins, which were good but a bit greasy. Later, we had ice cream sandwiches (our friends are big believers in "rally ice cream"), and those were great. I was unclear about the scope of the beer menu. The laminated beer menu on our table was a lot shorter than the one cycling on a TV nearby. The $3 happy hour pint selection is pretty limited, too. (I just drank Bud Select, so I guess I shouldn't complain.) Not my favorite place in the Loop, but probably your best bet for a sports bar. It's still a vast improvement over when there was an actual market in this space.

Pub House is the triple threat! Good food, good deals and good service. Wings, Pizza, Burgers, Nachos, and of course booze! Pub House is fun and great location in the loop.
(5)Geoffrey G.
I Nachos are very good here I just wish when you order them to go they would put the queso on the top instead of in little cups. Beside that the food is very good and the service is very friendly and efficient.
(3)Amanda K.
I came to Market Pub with a few coworkers last week for their weekly Wednesday trivia. A decent crowd turned out, a lot of whom seemed to be Wash U students. The structure of the trivia was a little confusing for us newbies, but we managed to figure out the rules and actually ended up smack in the middle of the score board. There was a good mix of questions, but if you are not a huge fan of pop culture (music, tv, & movies) then you would not excel here. I am by no means a movie buff and watch little to no TV, but I still managed to get a few answers. I decided to grab dinner while playing trivia since I had been busy beforehand...leaving no time to cook dinner for myself. I was feeling healthy, so I opted for a small grilled chicken salad which was dressed with a lemon vinaigrette. It was just what I wanted...fresh/crisp ingredients with a light dressing. I also tasted a piece of quesadilla and some spinach & artichoke dip that others ordered and both were delicious. I'll give Market Pub an A for their food. In addition to tasty food, Wednesday is happy hour all day long. This means $2 off all appetizers and wings, $2.50 well drinks, and $3.50 draft beers. They have a decent selection of beers, so all-in-all I left happy.

I've been to market pub house multiple times since living in the loop the past two years. I've never felt the need to right a review due to the mediocrity of the place. Everything has always been just ok, but have gone back out of connivence of location. However, I went there this weekend and was appalled by the service and the food. I ordered the smokehouse burger med rare. My waiter then told me I didn't want to order this way because it would come out raw. I was confused since I am under the impression I was ordering a pink throughout red center burger. I took my waiters advice and changed my order to medium. When I burger game out it was black, it was two steps pass well done. When I mentioned it to my waiter he said "oops, guess I steered you wrong, my bad." He then just walked off. My friends and I were shocked all being servers at one point in our lives. I didn't eat my burger and was charged for it and never offered a new one. The only reason they get two stars instead of one is for my previous okay experiences.
(2)Daryl H.
I went to MPH today to watch the games on their many TVs. Everyone was friendly and I had a good time watching my team win their game. I had the the "Hot" wings which were suppose to be traditional buffalo wings. I was told by the bartender that they would be the best wings I've ever had but, unfortunately, they weren't. Not even close. Prices are ok and the staff was friendly and there's lots of beers to choose from. I just didn't have an amazing or even great experience to rate MPH higher than three stars. I'll try it again, especially if i need a good spot to watch the Sunday Ticket.
(3)Caleb D.
Really good fries. The sandwiches were pretty tasty too. I'd recommend the grilled cheese. The spinach artichoke dip is amazing.
(4)Alexander P.
My favorite sh!t food. Try the aptly named "Cardiac Arrest" for a wallop of a burger.
(4)Harper Z.
Great place to watch any sports game. Lot's of tv's and plenty of waitstaff to take care of you. No one rushed us out while we watched an entire football game even though we only ordered one round of drinks and dinner. Food was decent and they have a large selection. Will probably come back during baseball season and try out some wings.
(4)Emily A.
Online ordering for delivery is easy as pie! The food usually arrives between 30-45 min during lunch rush! Much quicker outside of those hours. The BBQ Mac N Cheese is to die for!
(4)Leslie H.
We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Weather was great, so we dined outside on the patio. Service was great, and food was delicious. We shared an order of Japanese black wings to start. These are not a spicy wing--more a savory and sweet Asian wing. The stuffed jalapeño burger was delicious. My husband and I both ordered it and asked for a medium-well burger. It seemed more well done than we preferred, but the flavor was so good that we didn't worry about it. The regular fries were good, but the sweet potato fries were excellent. My husband was also impressed that they had 18 different beers on their on-draught menu. We would definitely stop here again.
(4)Kathy K.
Good food, good beer. TERRIBLE service. We tried Market Pub House with a group of friends Saturday evening. They were moderately busy but nothing that would excuse the terrible service we received. Took around 15 minutes to get drinks. One friend waited over 30min just to receive the wrong soda after asking the waitress three different times. Our waitress had one other table and our service was still terrible. She dropped off our food and drinks and never returned until arriving with the bill. We had to get refills at the bar if we ever expected to receive them. Seems like the place has a lot of potential, especially during sporting events. We however cannot over look the terrible service.
(2)Carrie C.
We eat here from time to time... The menu changes a lot. They got rid of the buffalo chicken dip which used to be our favorite, but the Mac n cheese with pulled pork, BBQ sauce, and onion straws is good. The wraps are average. Service has been good overall.
(3)Aimee K.
Cool spot to watch the game or grab some food with friends in the Loop! They have a surprisingly large patio, a ton of which is covered... so you can still sit out there and watch the game while it's storming like a mother trucker. The menu is HUGE, but they specialize in burgers so I highly recommend you try one of them. A few examples of the creative versions they have on the menu: -The breakfast burger, topped with a fried egg, bacon, and American cheese. -The Hawaiian, topped with a slice of grilled pineapple, grilled onion, provolone cheese and teriyaki sauce. -Stuffed jalapeno burger, stuffed with jalapeno peppers & cilantro and topped with fried jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, and roasted red pepper aioli. They are also a ton of soups, salads, wraps, appetizers, sandwiches, and desserts. And really who could miss their extensive variety of chicken wings? You get ten huge ones for seven bucks. There are eleven kinds, ranging from tame (honey BBQ, ranch wings, etc.) to crazy hot (the atomic BBQ and the stupid hot wings.) Give this place a try if you want something casual with a menu big enough to please anyone you're with!
(4)Rachel K.
I ordered from these guys off grubhub.com and it was great. Delivery time was great, earlier than what they estimated. Had the Choco Wontons, Toasted Ravioli, Grilled Cheese, Pepper Poppers. All very good and great imagination with the Poppers and Chocolate wontons. Would definitely get delivery again from here.
(4)Erin P.
I like their new menu and their brunch was very good. Oh and the buffalo sauce... It's hot. Wow.
(4)Janet P.
Awesome burgers. The steak sauce they're basted in is really delicious. Tons of TVs to watch the games. $9 buckets. Friendly servers :) Wednesday is all day happy hour AND trivia night. Lots of fun. They change up their draft beers often, which is pretty neat. Makes it easy to try lots of drafts and they have lots of locals on tap.
(5)Geoffrey R.
I'll admit, I'm more than a little impressed with Market Pub House. The last time I was in the Loop, this was a chain of little shops & pizza/burger joints, and the Ginger Bistro next door was still Blockbuster. I mean hey....I don't live in St. Louis, LOL. Stopped by Market Pub in search of good eats, during a night of excessive drinking. Shortly after arriving, found out that the kitchen was closed as of 11pm, and it was right around midnight...my bad luck. Had a few drinks with this ridiculously adorable chick at the door, and was on my way. Decided to stop in yesterday w/ my cousin, after an open house....damn good food. Big fan of the wings...we split the 30 wing platter (Kickin Garlic, Hot, and Honey BBQ)...two small mounds of extremely clean bones were the result. Cuzz grabbed the beer battered burger, with fries....deep fried, 1/2 pound burger pretty much says it all, right? I went with the Cardiac Arrest...1/2 pound burger, bacon, and Cheddar, with 2 grilled cheese sandwiches as buns....Yes, it was as fucking awesome as the name suggests. Service was friendly, efficient, and it almost seemed as if my glass was refilling itself...Management staff is adept at making you feel super comfortable, TVs abound, and they have a pretty decent selection on tap...Not Cicero's, mind you...but decent. Ummmm....oh, on a side note, the only gripe I have...not getting my burger cooked to the desired doneness. The waitress asked, but the kitchen didn't quite hit the mark...my medium rare request ended up medium well...but still juicy somehow.

Bought the groupon for 1 app and 2 entrees. Showed up on Monday Burger night. It's $2 for a 5 oz burger, and you pay extra for additions. Just like Bar Louie, except BL's burger is bigger. Also similar to BL, they have $3 drafts during Happy Hour. I read the reviews before going and was a little wary. But our server was great, made sure to explain how the groupon worked and checked up with the manager to make sure the wings qualified as an appetizer. He was great, attentive, refilled soda and checked up on us frequently. We ordered the Japanese Black sauce wings. They were great, flavorful, but not really spicy. Just one note, the entire place smelled like old dish rags. I'm guessing the water/towel they used to wipe down the tables was old, but it was a really unappetizing smell. We also ordered french fries and the fish sandwich. The bf ordered the smokehouse burger. It looked nice, I forgot to ask for a bite in the midst of enjoying the fries and fish sandwich. The fries are just like Steak n shake, thin cut, and served with a great chipotle mayo. But, their fries are spiced better than SnS. The fish sandwich was a little small for my taste, served on buttered white bread (maybe french?) with not quite enough tartar sauce. I also didn't like that the onions and tomatoes were diced and not thin slices. Oh well, I didn't say anything to the server, so it wasn't that big of a deal for me. My biggest problem with the fish was that it didn't seem to be seasoned. They batter was flavorless, and with the diced veggies, I don't feel like I got the fish sandwich I'm accustomed to. But, like I said, I didn't dislike it enough to say something to the server, so I would still say it was good. I also have to take into to account that I'm addicted to sambal- although I do know the distinction between spice and flavor. Great experience, great service, good food.

A place like Market Pub gets three stars because it fits Yelp's "A-OK" description to a T. You can have hundreds of totally pleasant and satisfying experiences at Market Pub that would be exactly the same as any other average sports bar in a college town. It's a solid place to bring a crowd, grab a drink before a show, or meet up for happy hour. In my opinion, four stars is for places that stand out above the fray, and that's really not the case here. HOWEVER, a brief story, because the people who served us last Saturday afternoon were excellent and deserve props for their great service. I showed up sleep deprived, starving, sad because there was a line at Fitz's, and needing a hamburger and fries in a limited period of time. Our waiter got our order in right away and was super friendly. My burger (the jalapeno) was exactly what I was looking for and cooked properly (medium rare). We were in and out and on our way in 45 minutes. Way to go, Market Pub team.
(3)Amber C.
They call themselves the sports bar in the loop but yet they consistently do not have the sound of a game on during nfl games on Sunday. They also do not cater to customers and even if you are the only customer requesting a game or the sound of the game, management still does be comply. Very disappointing to go to a sports bar that isn't really a sports bar. I would recommend if you are looking to watch football do not come to Market Pub in the loop.
(2)Mark H.
This place is a great go-to place with a good selection of beers and an affordable menu. I love their happy hour prices and trivia on Wednesday's. Their food is pretty good to. Worth stopping in!

The office had a working lunch, so ordered in using 569.DINE. I don't know what they pack the food in, but it's always delivered with the hot stuff hot and the cold stuff cold. Man, does that work. There were five of us, and I couldn't keep track of everybody's food, but it was gobbled up heartily. Here's what I saw around the table: two large house salads that were huge (and they were ordered as sides), fried fish sandwich, Dagwood, cheese quesadilla. I got a small house salad that was still massive. It was fresh and crunchy with beautiful, crisp cucumber slices and diced tomato. The bleu cheese dressing was tasty. I also got the original hamburger with Cheddar. I ditched the bun, but it looked rather fresh. The burger came with lettuce, tomato and onion; I used all of that. Even though the burger was flavorful, it was a bit dry. They didn't ask how I wanted it prepared, a shortcoming in my book. But the pickle was delicious and tangy! Ordering from Market Pub House worked for our group, because of the variety of offerings. There was something on the menu for everyone.
(3)Mykia O.
I worked next to this place for 2 years and I miss it everyday! They have the BEST cheese fires ever! And for like $3-4 if I recall correctly. The atmosphere is super relaxed and the rest of the food is typical comfort food. Prices are more than reasonable and the food hits the spot.

This is our second time back. We enjoyed the first time abd the second has started off well.
(5)Ziz M.
I've been to Market Pub House multiple times expecting it to get better. The food is fairly mediocre. I've either had a pretty good meal or an absolutely awful meal where I can't even finish half of it without feeling sick. Its only redeeming quality is the dessert wontons. Delicious. Everything else, go somewhere better like Fitz's. What really makes it only two stars is the service. I have been treated with rudeness multiple times I've been there. The wait staff is careless and has messed up my order or forgotten something with barely an apology. If you want your water filled, be prepared to wait forever to get someone's attention. Just the service makes me dread going there if any friend suggests it.

I went tonight with a couple of friends for beer and to watch the election results and I had a wonderful time. There are several great choices for draft beers at fairly reasonable prices (we did not go for a happy hour) and our bartender, Megan, was fantastic. The downsides to our visit was that there was karaoke happening during the presidential election results, which I'm sure could have been delayed for a couple of hours without anyone missing it. Also, at one point the awesome 70s rock was disappointingly replaced with Nickelback of all things. Ugh. However, the upsides, aside from the positive points I already mentioned, were that Megan didn't hesitate to change the channel from a sports game to CNN for us when we asked, the bathrooms were clean, Megan was actually able to answer our questions about beer (there is a surprisingly high number of bartenders who only bother to acquaint themselves with liquor), and the temperature was comfortable. I will definitely be coming back when I move to the Loop in less than a month!

I like this place for what it is: a good place to get a beer and a reasonably priced burger (or similar fare). I recommend sticking to the simpler menu items (burgers, wings, basic sandwiches). I have found such items to be of better than average quality, and very well priced. Great fries. The have a good beer selection and good prices. They have a good number of TVs and have been accommodating about putting a certain game on. Good place to catch a game. They also have good specials (happy hour, $1 burger night etc). Service has been hit or miss, sometimes food is served shockingly fast, sometimes a meal can drag on way too long. Going with a big group has sometimes resulted in slow service. The atmosphere is nothing special, pretty much a standard modern sports pub. I go to Market Pub quite often because it is a block from my house, and well within my price range. Bottom line: don't go expecting anything fancy and you will not be disappointed

The food is awesome, but our server was...well...rude? It seemed like the whole time we were there, we were trying really hard to get her to like us. That's wrong. She didn't smile, didn't make eye contact and seemed to really hate her job. I did notice that she was friendly and smiled to a able of guys. I've served before and I know that one bad table/tip is capable of throwing you off for the rest of the night, but damn acknowledge when you have nice people at your tables! I'd go back, the food runner was really nice and I may request him next time. Btw, the French onion soup was amazing.

After recently moving to the loop, I have starting trying all the different restaurants on the main strip. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. They have a large menu and tons of specials during the week and even on the weekend. The beer selection and burger selection will be sure to satisfy and the fries (sweet potato & regular) are AMAZING! I have raved about the fries alone to quite a few people. They even offer a duo offer where you can get a side of each. I have to say, I'm not a fan of the a la carte style menu- but it does make it easier to split and substitute. Outdoor seating is always a huge plus for me and they have a large partially covered patio with televisions. (They were playing soccer games one afternoon, and needless to say- the BF was super duper pleased with their variety of taste in sports) Word to the wise- they have a hot wing challenge that a friend of mine tried and it was horrifying to watch. These wings are so hot, you are required to sign a waiver and you aren't allowed to touch any surfaces in the restaurant for the remainder of your meal. If you seek out pain via ghost peppers, have at it, but otherwise stay away from this malicious challenge.

NOT IMPRESSED! First : upon entering a warning sign for grouponers. You MUST present your groupon BEFORE ordering or you may not be able to redeem it. The sign almost felt hostile! I am sure they have their reasons but after presenting the groupon and seeing their menu, I am at a loss? Second: No Coke here, Pepsi it is. Third: Ordered Nacho's with steak strips. Tri- Color chips with jalepeno's, onion, black beans, melted Provel-esqe cheese (white cheez-whiz) *shudder* and steak with a dollop of sour cream. The steak was not strips of steak but shaved beef like a French dip sandwich. The Cheese was the deal breaker for me, so my husband who was born here and grew up with that IMO, had at it. Fourth: I ordered a Pastrami on a baguette. The bread was the airiest baguette I have ever laid my hands on. It actually deflated! All that came with it was a pickle. The pickle was good. My husband had the French Dip served on the same air baquette. It came with a bowl of au jus. We wanted dessert, but we all ready had struck out and new we would be better off to look for sweeter pastures. Eek! Methinks NOT!

This place exceeded my expectations. Good bar food - and better variety than I expected as well, considering the low prices. Good beer list too. Big patio. Would definitely go back.

They have some really good deals here, but besides that, they're everyday prices are surprisingly low for how delicious it was! Its still sports bar food, hamburgers, chicken wings, chicken and waffles!!!, etc (they do have salads) but I just cannot get enough of theyre sweet potato fries. Holy Moley! they're great fries to begin with but come sprinkled with brown sugar and green (pesto? i should refine my palate more... haha) aioli on the side that is the most interesting and successful flavor combinations you could think of. MPH is also great for late night weekend activities or watching the game, but can either be super crowded or super empty depending mostly on where the wash u crowd goes that night. They have some really nice dart boards and make this lemon drink in house thats to die for. They apparently only make it about once a month and it goes quickly!

We ate here for the first time on Valentine's Day. We were in U City, and it wasn't crowded at all. They are a bar and grill, and have typical bar and grill food and beer. There just wasn't anything special here, except for my Valentine. We had burgers, and they were good. We had the Billy Goat chips, billed as the "best in the world," and they were good. The waitress was very nice and friendly, basically a good waitress. The dining room has dark wood tables, and it's dark. There are some TVs, but they aren't positioned where you can see them well - they're really too high. The worst thing about this place is that there are a long series of windows next to a building housing the Club Fitness on the second floor...and you can see people working out and sweating the whole time you are eating. All in all, it was good. I'd be fine going there again. With all of the awesome U City Loop places to eat, this place is really overshadowed.

With decent bar food, decent beer list, decent prices, and decent specials, I'd say that Market Pub House is well, decent. I went there on a Tuesday night with some girlfriends. Awesome drink specials! They had $2 margaritas and $6 PBR pitchers. Excellent pub grub!!! I can't wait to go there again for the food. The menu was cute and clever with fun descriptions. They even have a "Glee" themed sandwich! We got the nachos with the Southwest Chicken and they were perfect. I got the Bleu Burger and it was delicious but the highlight of the evening definitely was the fries. I was a little off put by everything being El la carte but I can see why they would never want their fries to play second fiddle. For one thing you get a TON. You can definitely split between two and they come with this delicious sauce! I realize this place is getting blasted but I have no idea what they are talking about. I recommend giving this place a second chance if you were unsatisfied before. Fun place in the Loop!

So my rule is that if I want to give .5 stars, I round down. I do not give the benefit of the doubt when it comes to restaurants. The waitstaff was aloof and inattentive, and neither my nor my date's meal were particularly memorable. I ordered some Chili Mac and it wasn't wonderful, though they do have a great beer selection and this "Ghost Wing" level of spice that is above "Stupid Hot" (yes, that's what it's called) on the menu. Eating all of the wings means you don't have to pay for the order, you get a t-shirt, and you get a photo on the Wall of Flame, also known as the "Wall of Chodes." Don't bother...there are other places on Delmar that will be a better spend of your time and money.

# of Visits: 15 Food: 9/10 Drink: 9/10 Atmosphere: 8/10 Price: 10/10 Service: 9/10 Eat This: Japanese Black Boneless Wings, Cardiac Arrest Drink This: Schlafly Dry Hopped APA Have yet to have a bad experience. Best daily specials I have found. Happy hour not bad either. Best place to watch sports in the area. Wings are cheap and good I come sometimes just for chips and dip and beer to watch games. Service is almost always great. Very intelligent wait-staff.

We happened to walk by Market Pub House on our way to Cicero's, noticed it was open, and stumbled in out of curiosity more than anything else. The restaurant has a great broad menu (burgers, salads, sandwiches, wings, and interesting sides) and the actual space looks great; tons of TVs, a nice bar, the tables aren't too close together, and there's no smoking, so you can sit comfortably through dinner without walking out smelling like an ashtray. The night we visited happened to be their opening night, which was kind of exciting, but at the same time, we should have known then that it was going to be a bumpy ride. Our server was sweet, but the whole staff seemed like they'd been hired a day earlier. As we sat waiting for our food (which turned out to be a long time), 4-5 different servers came by and tried to deliver us someone else's dinner. Three of my friends ordered salads, and I ordered the nacho burger. Two of the salads came early, and by the time the rest of the food came, my friends had finished their meals. The staff was so disorganized that in the twenty minutes we waited for our food, no one but our waitress stopped by the table to let us know what was going on. That's not entirely true... a couple other bussers tried to deliver other people's food, and by the end, I was about to accept. My burger was pretty good, but nothing special. The medium rare order was ignored. The sides (sold a la carte, we split sweet potato fries and mac and cheese) were the highlight of the meal. The sweet potato fries, especially, were fantastic. I'll be curious to visit again after the restaurant has some time to mature, so the three stars (generous based on my experience) are based on a great menu, a fun atmosphere, and the knowledge that the service has nowhere to go but up!

I really want to like this place, but they make it hard. The waitresses bumble, move slowly, and put in orders wrong. I went there last night and took advantage of their dollar burger night. The burger was pretty good, comparable to Carl's or Steak n Shake. Several of the items I ordered to top the burger were left off, but I still got charged. I was on a 4th date and didn't want to send my food back and look like a douche. I ordered some loaded fries to go w/ the burger. Bad idea. They were DRENCHED in some white, congealing cheese. Not very appetizing. Still, they have a decent happy hour til 7. The overall vibe I get from this establishment is indifference-it's just so generic and plain.

If you are in the loop and looking for a place to grab a burger and some beers and watch a game then this is probably the best spot. They have plenty of tvs so they usually have any game on that you might want to watch (Although I don't believe that they have Extra Innings or League Pass). Their food is ok, burgers are good but not great. They are pretty cheap, about $5, but they don't come with any sides, you have to order those separately. Food is just your typical bar food, nothing special but pretty cheap. They do usually have good drink specials so that is a plus. Like I said this is a good place to watch a big game while grabbing some beers and food.
(3)Damien S.
This place is ok. The staff is generally friendly, and all of the bartenders are very knowledgeable. They also have 20-some TVs that they're always willing to change to just about any game. My problem is mainly with consistency. The management seems to feel that they need to keep changing both the food and drink menus- I swear, every time I find a dish that I like, it's gone the next time I go in. I agree that variety is good, but in this place it's ridiculous. Add on top of that the rudeness I experienced the one time I tried to talk to someone (not sure if he was a manager or an owner), and they're lucky to get 3 stars out of me.
(3)Ted H.
Two stars ONLY because their wings are pretty good (get the Stupid Hot), and so many places in this area fail hard at wings. The service here, like many have mentioned, is piss poor. Our waitress forgot my friend's food order, and forgot another friend's beer. When asked about the beer she insisted she had brought it because she had "punched it in." So in other words, because she charged him for it he must have been wrong about never receiving it. Stupefying logic. Later she brought the beer over and snapped "I took it to the wrong table" like it was our egregious fault she couldn't keep her tables straight. It's one thing to do a job poorly, but it's a whole other thing to take it out on your customers. Also, some reviewers on here have said this place has a "good beer list." This is true if you are used to AB-only bars; they have some craft beers, but really common ones (see the list at: marketpubhouse.com/index… ). If you are looking for good beer on the Loop Cicero's is the obvious answer, but Three Kings also has a better taplist than this place. As far as the atmosphere, the person who said it was like a Loop Applebee's had it right.
(2)Tiffany N.
Their food is okay and some is interesting... but why is it so expensive? I swear I could order anything on their menu and a drink somewhere else at the same price and still pay Market Pub House more. Maybe it's related to paying for extras, i.e. I order a different sauce (because I can't eat ranch) and my server charges me. I can't really explain it. Also, of the 5 times I've been here, I've had the same server 3 of those times. I now feel like I have to avoid her like the plague because I really get this feeling that she hates me. They do have decent happy hour and late night specials. Sadly, I don't care for the atmosphere enough to be there at either of those times.
(2)Vinnie H.
The new menu is a huge upgrade. Hand's down, this place has the best steak on The Loop and the beer selection is fantastic. Also, Greg's The Man.
(5)Jenny P.
Honestly, I don't even have much at all to say about Market Pub. My taco meal was bland and the beer list was just alright. Nothing about it really impressed me at all. It reminds me of being the "Applebee's" of the Delmar loop. Nobody would choose this boring place over all the other amazing eclectic places in the loop. One word...lame.
(2)Karen G.
I like this place. I've been there a few times now, and it's got a lively atmosphere and a huge menu. And the food is CHEAP. Well, I guess it could get expensive as everything is a la carte, but I like that I can get an appetizer with a sandwich instead of a normal side if I want. Or spend less and just get the sandwich without paying for a side I don't need. So I popped in last night really for dessert, but the BBQ pulled pork mac & cheese was calling my name. I think the dish is an inspired concept, but it lacked execution. The big problem is that I expect mac & cheese to have a strong CHEESE flavor, and this was more like macaroni in a light cream sauce. The sauce just didn't have any punch to it. The pulled pork, drizzled BBQ sauce and crunchy onion string toppers were great through, so it wasn't a total failure. I seriously was planning on getting dessert, but ended up cancelling the order...really wasn't hungry enough for both. I was informed that they are no longer serving the cheesecake lollipops that the menu said was their specialty, and the the sauce on the cookie dough filled wontons is now just regular old chocolate and not habenero chocolate (which is the only reason I originally ordered this!). So if you hate sport bars, then it's not your place. But if you want to go someplace causal with good food (I've loved everything I had on prior visits...especially the burgers and sweet potato fries), give it a try. Oh, and they have free WiFi. I even saw someone working on a laptop by himself at the bar...that's a first for me on a weekend night.

I miss Rac's, but this place is awesome! I was out with a huge crowd and service was very prompt. The food is great, especially the spicy Mac and cheese which is just awesome. I heard they had special deals for brunch, and while I didn't see them, the omelet I ordered was perfect. I am a bit disturbed by the bottomless Mimosas... one shouldn't order six and feel unaffected. Hmm...
(3)Lori E.
Market Pub House....... we were greeted promptly and with a friendly face! Our server was very friendly, very knowledgable of the menu. The food was excellent..... we had the Mild Wings, LOVED the flavor!!! Had a cup of Chili.... to me, it was very good.. not too spicy at all.... would get again..... I also ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger.... Very good... Hubby got the Memphis Style BBQ Mac...... I thought, What the????? He said it was incredible...... I did sneak a taste of the Mac n Cheese.. YUMMMMY!!!!!
(4)Max S.
This place is the most mediocre bar in America. The layout is weird, the drinks are average (and average-ly priced), the food is forgettable but mildly tasty, and the service is "eh." Good place to go if you want a burger and a Bud during a sporting event, and are willing to wait for it.
(3)Sara S.
You should visit this bar for the atmosphere, service, and delicious French fries. Three great attributes to be sure (hence the 3-star rating). However, I'm underwhelmed with the rest of the food. I first visited on Monday after work during their "burger bar" special, in which you build your own burger. Unfortunately, with this "special," they charge you for basic toppings like lettuce, tomato, and onion - These are included in build-your-own burger deals at other places. As a result, the cost can quickly add up to regular burger prices, so you may not feel like you're actually getting a deal. I do like that they offer egg as a topping, and our server was extremely friendly. My second visit was on a recent Saturday afternoon to watch a Mizzou basketball game. I ordered the mushroom & swiss burger, but asked for it in wrap form, instead of on a bun. The waitress, who seemed like she was a college student, was a little out of it. It took her a while to get us drinks, and then she actually told me that the cook was annoyed that I wanted the burger as a wrap. She was very friendly, however. I will happily return to Market Pub House, but will probably not order a burger.
(3)Stewart P.
I've been here a few times ... decent food at decent prices but nothing special and the place can get loud ... as in one loud table takes over the airwaves. Pretty good service otherwise and if you just want a different place to try, it may be good for that.
(3)Antonio R.
I rarely return to a restaurant if I had a bad experience. There has to be something good enough about a place to draw me back despite an unpleasant visit. The only reason I ever went back was because the prices are damn good if you're in a pinch and the burgers are pretty tasty. The food has never been an issue. It's nothing special, mainly generic Americana type foods but that's exactly what I expect from a place called Market Pub House. The bad experiences I have had came from the service. To begin with, I'm not sure they even have a seating chart or designated hosts. Every time I have come in, the seating process has been the most disorganized part of the process. It takes ages to be approached by someone to take your name, and then if it's busy, it takes even longer to be seated. Finally, after being seated, the food takes what seems like forever to get to you, even when it's a simple cheeseburger. Our servers seemed over worked every time and took the chance to vent to us about the slow kitchen. If the servers are complaining to customers about the speed of the kitchen, that's when you know that you're not just being a needy customer. We were even given free beer once when we visited because after an hour and fifteen minutes, we still did not have our food and our waiter had disappeared thirty minutes before then. I had to go to the bar to let them know that we were about ready to leave and just to cancel our order before they noticed that we hadn't been served yet. I've given this place numerous chances to prove that they deserve the business, but each time I go the people in charge prove that they don't know how to run a restaurant, regardless of the quality of the food.
(1)Pamela K.
Went there on a Sunday night for some drinks. Did not eat just drank. I like that buckets were $9 all day every day. The service was terrible though. There was no one really in there and it took about 20 minutes to get our bucket. For a place that does not stand out they need to have better service to make me come back.
(2)Allison B.
I'm not in love with Market Pub House, but I don't despise it either. I want to say "meh," but I feel a bit better about it than two stars, so three it is. I'm pleased that they have a veggie burger. It's not bad, and it's nice to have a burger option on that long list of burgers for meatatarians. I usually order the sweet potato fries, which are decent but could use a bit of salt. They're awfully nice about bringing me barbeque sauce for dipping, though. :) During my last visit, I tried the Asian slaw. I'd get this again, as it had a little bit of sweetness poking out from the sour vinegar taste. It was a nice balance. Friends enjoyed what were apparently extremely cheap drinks during (if I'm remembering correctly) special happy hours or a special day. Their eyes popped when they got their bills - in the good way. And I have to give major props to the bartender and chef who bent over backwards to pack up some gooey buttercake for me as a to-go order. I need the dessert as a prop for a video I was shooting elsewhere in the Loop, but gooey buttercake normally isn't available as take-out because it melts so quickly. However, once I explained the situation, the bartender and chef worked together to get me a lovely looking (and tasting!) piece of cake that survived the transport to our shooting location. Alas, the general service I've received at the Pub House has been kind of lackluster. Everyone is friendly, but as others have mentioned, servers are very slow and tend to forget about you. For me, Market Pub House really only serves as a dinner option when I'm with friends who don't want to indulge me in the great ethnic food that's in the Loop or when I just feel like boring, basic food. It's definitely middle-of-the-road and inoffensive.
(3)Amanda D.
Hosted a pub crawl for my husbands birthday. Market pub house was more then accommodating. They reserved a nice area for us and gave us great specials. Aj took care of our party and did a great job. We will defiantly be back!
(5)Dan S.
While I kept wanting to love this place, I never could. Food was always less than stellar and always left me unimpressed. Love the bar and the beer selection but that was about it. Better places to get bar food in the area.
(2)Kristin E.
Affordable pub grub in the Loop. If you need to please a group and are looking for cheap eats, enter Market Pub House. The huge menu features apps, wings, burgers, sandwiches, salads and a lot more. Everything is reasonably-priced (most everything under $10). Many of the sandwiches are $6-7. The sides are separate but it keeps costs cheaper that way. I recommend the Cuban sandwich and sweet potato fries. Just don't get a full basket because you'll regret it later for eating the whole thing at once...Believe me, I know :). Friendly staff and great beer selection. This place is a winner in my book!
(4)Danielle A.
A handsome young man convinced me to give this place a second try, and I obliged since he was craving hummus (and well...he was paying, and it's hard to say no to that). I was impressed that their veggie burger was not only house made, but also incredibly delicious. The sweet potato fries were delicious as well. The pesto mayo they serve them with was yummy. I'm usually a ketchup fanatic, but I was rather satisfied with dipping the fries in the mayo. The service was a lot better this time too, so they gained two extra stars from me. I *may* even consider going back again. =P

I decided to take my friend, Donna, and mother, Pat, here for lunch. We were met promptly by the bartender and was seated inside. She took our drink order and brought the drinks. it took a bit for her to come back to take our order. when i looked up she was sitting talking to a managerial type person. A young man who i think was supposed to be our server came over to take our order. i got the Greek burger w/ a turkey burger patty instead of beef. I like that they offer a variety of proteins. Beef, Turkey, Chicken, and Mushroom Cap is what stands out in my mind. the Greek burger has feta cheese and the sauce i can't spell but starts with a T. I can honestly say that was the best turkey burger i have had in a while. It tasted and looked like real turkey. Not a frozen soybean/turkey mix. i then ordered the fry duo for the table. the fry duo is a half order of reg french fries, and a half order of sweet potato fries. I really like sweet potato fries. the side are ordered separate from the sandwich, but they give you $1 off the side item price. My mom and friend both ordered wings. The honey BBQ wings are good but very sticky. The mild hot wings were also good, but i did not really taste the sauce that much. I will be back to try my new love of sandwiches in my life, the Cuban. .
(3)Kelly B.
Everything is individually priced, which is a little annoying, not to mention misleading. Also, they did away with their shoestring fries (yum!) and replaced it with ho hum fries that you could get anywhere. But the food is always delicious and the waitstaff is knowledgable and attentive. They also sell a lot of neat bar merch and offer free lunch raffles. And whoa! So clean!
(4)Leslie B.
Went there Sunday afternoon while in search of a beer.. We found a great happy hour special there- $3 drafts, $3 wells and $4 you-call-its. The game was on, the drinks were flowing and we had a great time. We sat at the bar and the bartender was not that talkative but he kept our glasses full. The guy next to me had one of the biggest burgers I've seen. Can't wait to go back and try one. Seems like they have good prices and decent specials, not to mention a late night happy hour which is always a plus... Will definitely be back for more.
(4)Derek M.
Wow. I try and have part of my rating based on overall lifetime experiences, and this two star is an exercise of that mentality. The only reason this isn't a one is because I am sure I have had worse experiences at some point and time. Really bland food. REALLY BLAND If it wasnt so cheap, I would blast the dish. The service, i have a hard time being critical of wait staff. I was arguably the worst server that has ever walked the planet and I appreciate the fact that it is a very difficult job. So I wont really comment , but it was obvious the young man who waited on the party i was with hadnt been trained. Thats not his fault. Not to mention the best service in the world wouldn't save this place. There are so many great places to eat around town, please do not waste your dollars on this place. Maybe if you are just going to grab a beer its okay, but i work hard and want a place that provides something unique. FYI one star is reserved for the repulsive.
(2)Emily H.
I thought the food tasted good, though a tad more then I would've liked to pay for(but not terrible).our server was just attentive enough to refill our water.
(4)Jonathan K.
Very mediocre pub food with terrible service on the Loop. They have a surprisingly extensive menu, with plenty of appetizer offerings as well as sandwiches and burgers. The French Dip wasn't good, far too salty and a bit soggy as well. The Market Melt (a patty melt with grilled onions on rye) was not good either. Their burgers are decent, probably the best items on the menu. They ask if medium-well is okay, but the burgers usually come out looking well-done anyway. Their sweet potato fries are surprisingly good. Probably the worst part about this place is the service. It is extremely SLOW, you can wait unacceptable times for every part of your meal, including the food and the check. The prices are fairly reasonable, and you can get a burger for $5-7 (no side). They do have a convenient location, and the outdoor seating is very nice.

When I eat at a new place and have a good experience I usually rush home after and write up a review. When the experience is less good, I usually wait, hoping that next time will change my mind. I waited to write this one. I'm giving this place three stars because, while I found it underwhelming, I recognize that it is a fairly average bar that isn't actually offensive in any obvious way. The burgers are average but are rendered slightly less appetizing by the management's decision to follow the Blueberry Hill business model of serving them with no sides. The fries are equally average. The loaded fries, to my chagrin, come drenched in that...substance...known as provel. The staff are generally friendly but there seem still to be the kinds of problems that a place should outgrow after the first couple weeks. On my first visit I ordered a mushroom burger (i.e. burger covered in mushrooms) and my friend ordered a portabella burger (i.e. not meat). We both got the portabella. By the time I got what I ordered, my friend had finished eating. I did notice some good things. First, there are a LOT of TVs in this place, which I suppose would make it a good place to watch a game. I may find myself here during hockey season for this reason. Second, the sweet potato fries are pretty darn good. I also liked the calamari, though the portion size was a bit small. Overall, I question the wisdom of opening yet another burger joint on the Loop and then doing very little to make it stand out. Frankly, I miss the pizza place that was here before, especially the possibility of buying by the slice, which is now nowhere to be found on the Loop.

The former home of Racanelli's has now turned into Market Pub House. I was able to visit last weekend while they were doing a "test run". Atmosphere: The first thing you'll notice is that this is decent sized place. Outdoor sitting is available and there are big screen TV's abound. It gives the feel of a sports bar. the servers and bartenders were very kind and pretty knowledgeable. A plus for this place is that it's NON SMOKING! Service was slightly slow but again they are still working out kinks. Food/Drinks: I recommend reading the food menu as the descriptions are kinda humorous. There is a variety of food available from your standard burgers to veggie wraps to wings. I enjoyed the French Fries (which if you mess up your fries you have no hope in my opinion). I enjoyed the French Dip which was pretty good. Not incredible but it was well done. Drink wise they had there bar fully stocked with several beers on tap. Don't expect the overwhelming beer selections of Cicero's. They have a cocktail menu but it was not available during my time there. Cost: 95% of the food menu costs between $5-7 per item (the exceptions are the sides being $2 and 3 and a $9 burger). Closing Thoughts: I believe that after they work out the kinks and get themselves established they will be a pretty good addition for the Delmar Loop. It's a good place to get a bite to eat with a friend or catch a drink with a friend that won't put a dent in your wallet.
(3)Brian M.
I have had several dining experiences at the Market Pub House, each time I have been hoping for the service to improve but have been disappointed each time. The food is your typical bar food, and is hit or miss. It look almost 35 minutes from the time we ordered to get a deli sandwich and a burger on a slow day, and when the burger arrived it was cold. Food is cheap with each dish costing 5, 6, or 7 each. If you are looking for a quick meal while in the Loop I would go over to Fitz's or even Blueberry Hill, you are not missing much by skipping the Market Pub House.
(2)Lisa L.
For a buffalo chicken/wings lover, this is the best place! They have a large selection of sauces at a variety of 'spice' and flavor. If you're feeling extra brave, they do have a ghost pepper wing sauce challenge, but you'll have to sign the waver. They also have really good appetizers and alcohol selections. The decor and atmosphere is sports bar-ish. Market Pub House has amazing happy hour specials pretty much every night of the week, Wednesday being the best deals. Prices are average for sports bar food and staff is very friendly!
(4)Sidharth S.
i really Liked the atmosphere here.. this is the first time I was here.. came with a group of friends for their Wednesday night wings and trivia.. The trivia was very casual, simple not too difficult (my group won all the rounds ;) yea we are smart like that). There was a pitcher of beer for round winners and 25$ for the final winner.. Lot of good beers on draft was also very impressive.. All in all good food and good drinks nice environment to hang out.. I heard they have a ghost chilly wings challenge, next time I am there am gonna take it.. Lets see how that goes..
(4)Isla E.
Good for a drink or if you want to watch a game that's not widely broadcast. That's about it. The kitchen isn't open late enough and the food isn't great. But the bartender was really nice.
(3)Nowell G.
I tried this place earlier this season, just after they opened up. To be honest, I'm not a fan of the generic sports pub. If I wanted a drink or a meal at a sterile, uninspired, horrendously unimaginative place, I'd buy a ticket and eat at the airport. That's the face value of Market Pub House to me. The menu was an attempt to be eclectic without being bold. Sure you could slab teriyaki sauce on stuff and call it Japanese... Or even serve potstickers in a "brew house" and reach for Asian flair... But in the end, it's kind of lame. What's worse is the simple fact that Market Pub House has the potential to be a great bar/restaurant WITH personality. They just need to be be genuine on an overall scale. I sampled their "breakfast burger" which was tasty, but when I ordered it over easy, it didn't mean over hard (or left under a salamander to rest up). The burger patty was home made and seasoned in an okie-doke kind of way but needed... something. I also asked for medium-rare, expecting that it would end up medium (I noticed that the server wa N-E-W) and it came out almost well done. Tasty, but not exactly the best on accuracy. The bun, while fresh was not grilled or toasted, and detracted from the overall theme of "breakfast burger". Toast the buns! This isn't a backyard BBQ. No worries, it's a new restaurant with new staff, and definitely new servers (100% green at the time, but with plenty of room to improve). I also ordered a mac and cheese, which was uninspired at best. The bread crumb topping should have been more pronounced instead of looking like lost grains of sand, swimming in a sea of undeveloped cheese sauce, and the dish itself (served in a ceramic dish) could have been allowed to brown just a little, under some heat... Oh yeah, I think it needed something of an aromatic flavor, maybe an onion or garlic. They left out suggestion forms, and I relayed my concerns with them. I just expect that my next visit (sometime soon, I think) will prove to be an huge improvement.

I really wanted to like this place but it didn't do it for me. The service wasn't great & the food was mediocre. I'd rather go to Hammerstones for $3 mimosas & a delicious $5 breakfast.

I love this bar. It helps that I go there so often I know the managers by name and they know me. Definitely do not go here for the food but go for the drinks! $1 pitchers of PBR on Wednesday nights? Awesome. This is a great bar to meet up with your friends if you're a student or a young person in the Delmar area. Also a great place to watch the NFL! I would give it 5 stars except the food is kind of bad. EXCEPT for the crab dip, which is delicious but I don't order a full-fledged meal when I go. Just drink!

Great corned-beef sandwich. A little slow on service, but friendly. Would go there again.

We went for brunch. free mimosa with brunch was a good deal. My biggest gripe was the "fresh fruit cup". I was served cantaloupe and canned pineapple. Not cool. The waffle was great. I would come back for the atmosphere and service.

My husband suggested dinner here last Friday night. He had been for lunch and enjoyed it, and he raved about the side options. We sat outside - always great people watching in The Loop, and it was a very pleasant night. Unlike some of the other reviews, we had great service. Our server was very knowledgeable on the menu and attentive in refilling our drinks many times over as we took our time there. I had the turkey burger w/ blue cheese. Great flavor - not your typical bland turkey burger. And the blue cheese was so ample, not just a sprinkling that you typically get from other restaurants, that I couldn't eat it all, but I was glad to have it! Hubs had the the Club sandwich and it was HUGE! Again, very healthy portion of turkey and ham on their homemade sourdough was more than filling - we actually took half of it home. Not just boring lunchmeat sandwich, either, both the turkey and ham had great flavor and the thicker-slices of bacon were also not boring - yummy, salty, pork goodness! SIDES! This was tough, because we wanted to try a couple of the sides, but knew that the portions were very large - each enough for AT LEAST 2 diners to split. We settled on the original Mac & Cheese and the Cheese & Bacon Fries (yes, the theme is nearly always cheese with us!). Mac & Cheese was a great blend of different cheeses with traditional elbow noodles. Just enough tang and goo and more than satisfy - highly recommend! The fries are thin cut and were very flavorful on their own, so next time I will try that, but with the nacho-like cheese and chunks of that yummy bacon, they were fantastic. We definitely would hit up this place again - and we will have beer next time. We did see that the table near ours asked some questions about beer that their server could not answer, so she brought out another person from inside (bartender or bar manager perhaps), who discussed the beer options with the patron for quite a while. This place should be more crowded! I am super picky when it comes to service and our tastes run the gammet depending on our mood, and we definitely will be back!

I thoroughly enjoy this place! My boyfriend and I have walked up to Market Pub House several times since they opened. The brunch has nice selections and they are even able to offer items not necessarily on the menu. For example, they do not have turkey bacon or turkey sausage, but were able to make a chicken breast for a friend during the Sunday brunch. I wouldn't go into the Pub expecting to be WOWED, however if you want inexpensive, good tasting food and drinks, check it out!!

I had the breakfast burger. Very good burger. Even with the egg yolk all over the plate when I got it. I'm not afraid if a messy burger. I'm not a fan of a burger place not giving fries with a burger. And a side of fries costs $3? Mind you I've worked in the restaurant industry for 15 years, but I have a couple pet peeves about service. One being, if you order food at a bar, even if the customer has a beer, always give them a glass of water. It's a service standard a lot of bars fall short on. Overall, little pricey for being a pub. But I understand they have good drink and food specials.

MPH, aka Market Pub House, aka Meal Patrick Harris, aka Schlafly buckets and delicious food for hella cheap. Good service, great patio on the loop, one of my group's favorite places to go.

Food is average at best. Customer appreciation was at an all time low the second and final time I will have ever stepped into this restaurant. I bought a group of about 10 people to this place because it was fairly close to the Pageant and we were all going to see "The Urge" perform this past November. We ordered drinks for happy hour. If memory serves the cut off for happy hour specials was 7PM. I decided to put an order in for a drink around 6:55. At roughly 7:10 the waitress still hadn't gotten my drink.... because she forgot it. No big deal, I was quite polite about it. She got the drink to me a few minutes after that. Our group continued to hang out and had some drinks and we asked for our tab around 8:30. I looked at my itemized bill and saw that the waitress charged my drink for the regular price. I inquired about this and she said thats because i ordered after the happy hour ended. I told her that I ordered before 7PM. She went to talk to the manager about this, came back and said "No, the computer says that the order was put in close to 7:15". I explained to her that is because she FORGOT that I ordered my drink and I had to remind her 15 minutes later. The manager would not adjust the price, so I said "Fine, charge me whatever you want, I'm never coming back". It's about the principle of the thing. Why argue with a customer over a couple bucks, even IF you think the customer is wrong? I know I wasn't wrong though, my friends remember me stating to them that I was glad to get one more drink in before happy hour was over. It was just rude, and I was ready to cut the waitress slack for forgetting my drink since it was busy that night. As a result, I did not tip her, and a number of my friends just tipped her a few dimes since she and the manager weren't playing nice. Screw this place. --------------------------------------------------Â-------- Okay, after writing my review i decided to read some others. A lot of people are also complaining about service and being treated poorly... looks like its not just me. I'm left wondering if the other yelp reviews are talking about the same blonde waitress that I had to deal with.... I now go out of my way to steer people away from this establishment. Market Pub House deserves every negative word that comes out of my mouth.

I want so badly to like Market Pub House. Since my bf and I live so close, we've given it numerous chances, but so far the only decent item we've had is the veggie burger--- which we didn't actually order, but was brought to us by mistake one night when my bf ordered a regular one. Everything else we've had hasn't been good enough to order again. One positive note, though: they are hardly ever crowded, so if you are looking for a good place to grab a beer after work (and you aren't too hungry) this place is an excellent alternative to its normally crowded neighbors, Cicero's and Blueberry Hill.

Its a good place for a couple of beers while watching the game. The food is mediocre, but it will do if you want a quick bite to eat.

Went with a Groupon for 1 appetizer and 2 entrees. Had tickets for a concert at The Pageant and went 2 hours before the show. Also, we didn't care much for the opener so didn't mind if we were a little late either, but thought we had plenty of time. Once we were seated, we ordered our appetizer since we knew we wanted the Spinach Artichoke dip. The dip was very creamy, and the pita chips that came with it were excellent. I ordered The Pittsburgh and the Nacho Mac & Cheese as a side, and my date ordered a Greek Turkey Burger and Fries as a side. We placed this order before our appetizer came out. The appetizer was slow to come to the table, but we weren't too concerned. However, we waited an hour and-a-half for our meal. Our waiter was very nice, even apologetic, about our long wait, and we paid our balance before we even got our entrees to save time. By the time our food came out, we were already 15 minutes for the concert so we scarfed it down pretty quickly leaving half our meals still on our plates. I liked the Nacho Mac & Cheese a lot. I was disappointed with The Pittsburgh since it was mostly Asian slaw and very little ham and cheese. My date liked her burger and fries, but it was nothing special. And we ended up being 30 minutes late to our show. Again, a couple stars because our waiter was very nice, and I liked the Nacho Mac & Cheese, and the Spinach Artichoke Dip was good. But if you don't have 3 hours or more to spend at a restaurant, I wouldn't recommend this place.

My friends and I checked out this new pub that had taken over the old Racanelli's and left generally feeling they had some kinks to work out. I'll agree with the previous statements about the atmosphere. Lots of TVs without being uncomfortable for people who weren't trying to watch a game. Spacious dining room, comfortable furnishings. Food: good selection, slightly more creative than "typical pub fare." There were plenty of options for my vegetarian companions, plus several of the meatatarian items were offered with veggie variations. Sweet potato fries, nacho mac n cheese (mac n cheese with nacho type additions like jalapenos and such), pork taco, and nachos all went over well at our table. And prices were an interesting twist: EVERYTHING was either $5, $6, or $7. Felt like a good value to me. Beer: resepctable selection, though one of their servers mispronounced Schlafly, which is a cardinal sin in my book. They're no Cicero's (53 taps, 150 bottles), but there were at least 10 taps, (maybe more like 15?) including some less common offerings like Lagunitas. Plus a reasonable bottle selection. Service: Well with all the nice things I've had to say so far, something had to bring 'em down to 2 stars. In short, I don't think any of the staff that I met tonight have restaurant experience. Food was very slow to come out, and way too many "little things" went wrong for one meal. There was a forgotten salad, the french dip that that came without dip, the dip that eventually came out after the forgotten salad (at which point said french had cooled), and several delays here and there. One of my friends put it best: "when you're at a Pub, it shouldn't take 10 minutes to get another beer." They also shouldn't bring out an extra beer and ask if we want to pay for it, or come by to ask if we need anything when the beers we've been waiting on for 10 minutes are at the bar. Bring the beers first, THEN ask if we need anything else. So, to sum up: the place has potential. Dinner was good, but they need to better train their staff or hire better in the first place, I blame it on growing pains, as they've been open less than a week. Service was perfectly friendly, just not very good. I will go back in a week or two to see if they improve any. Certainly worth giving them a shot, though.

Friend and I came here by default last week whenever the restaurant of choice was mysteriously closed. I was so underwhelmed by every aspect of my visit here. Generic sports bar without any sort of ambiance, like they plopped some tables in a huge open space and threw up a couple tvs. Every single table was dirty and even the one we sat at didn't get cleaned until we wiped it off ourselves AFTER our food was placed. They seemed severely understaffed, and while our server was very efficient, friendly, and helpful... the sum was greater than its parts. My friend and I both had the chicken pesto panini and it was completely tasteless. It may just be my American thought process, but having to purchase fries a la carte bugged me a little. Just when I thought I couldn't be less impressed, my friend grabs my glass of water and starts sticking her hand in it. Confused, I stared at her while she pulled a foot and a half long hair out of my water glass. I'm not a germaphobe, and was pretty happy to see the girl from which it originated seemed to have clean, shiny hair... but seriously. Pull back your hair if you're working with food. Our waiter replaced my water quickly and graciously, but in the end, nothing about our meal was prompt, clean, interesting, or tasty. I don't think I'll go back.

Have had lunch at the Pub House twice since it opened. I thought the food was Great both times. The service was OK both times, I can't say it was perfect but it is a pub... especially for the price. the food took 15 min the first time I want in and that was a bit annoying but it only took 10 min today. My server was nice and she helped us pick some of her favorite items. I had a Breakfast Burger (bacon, egg, and cheese Burger) it was amazing except I should have ordered the egg fully cooked instead of over easy, it got a little messy. My friend and I washed the meal down with a $6 pitcher of PBR. I think the pub house will prove a staple in the loop. I liked the prices most of all, our tab was 25 with the tip. Long story short, I'll be back next week.
